Toner is undoubtedly one of my favorite products to use. I used to never use toner, making my face super dry after cleansing. Now that I religiously use toner, my skin retains moisture for a longer period of time throughout the day. In addition to using toner with a cotton pad after cleansing, I add toner into a spray bottle and use it as a face mist throughout the day. I'll also occasionally add some toner to a Ziploc bag and soak some cotton pads in the toner to use as an easy, no-hassle face mask. This toner from Pyunkang Yul is an essence toner, making the consistency a bit thicker than some of the other toners I use. With the weather becoming even colder and the season transitioning from summer to fall, this toner has been my go-to. The ingredient list is short and simple, with no harsh chemicals or fragrances which is always a plus!
Something quite interesting that I've noticed is that not many people use serums in comparison to other products like toner or moisturizer. I always like to include serums in my skincare routine because I have very dry skin. An extra layer of moisture is always welcome! Because I have such dry skin (especially in the fall/winter), I am always on the lookout for serums that help boost hydration. I was really excited to use this serum because it promises to recover the balance of water and oil in the skin. The dropper was really convenient to use. I use one full squeeze of the dropper morning and night right after I apply toner. The serum definitely adds an extra barrier of moisture before I apply moisturizer.
Two of the key ingredients in this nutrition cream are shea butter and macadamia oil. I'm pretty familiar with shea butter as it is used in many moisturizers for its hydration effects. I've never used a product with macadamia oil, however, so I was interested in testing out this product to see if there are any particularly outstanding effects. Macadamia oil supposedly assists with the formation of skin protection barriers and has antioxidation effects. My first impression of the cream was that it is quite thick and dense. I'll probably use this more in the winter when my skin is extra dry. Even though the cream is on the thicker side, it absorbs into the skin once you massage it in. I suggest applying it in layers rather than all at once for optimum absorption!
